Dear Villagers,

As I’m sure you are all aware, we continue to suffer from intermittent internet access from all providers.

The long term plan is to move the BT Openreach Cabinet to a safer location. However, this is currently expected to happen some six months from now (February/March 2026).

We are currently in communication with Danny Kruger’s assistant who has provided the following feedback:

“Dear Alex,

Another quick update from BT on the cabinet:

I have a bit more information on why this is taking longer than expected and it ties in with your question around moving the cabinet.

Because there’s been an issue in the past we are looking at moving the cabinet now rather than replacing it like for like. This needs further attention as it’s not just the cabinet to be moved it’s all the underground network as well.

It requires a specialist team to complete works like this. A site meeting is planned for next week and if all goes well we’ll put in an emergency permit to get the new cabinet placed, then cable works to follow.

I’ll follow up on that next week.

We’ll let you know more as soon as we know more.

All best,

Ed”

We will continue to apply pressure to get the right solution or a more appropriate temporary solution.

All the best

Alex Wolcough
