Greetings Forkers!
Our next meeting is on Wednesday 2nd April at 1000 – 1100 at the Village Hall Coffee & Cake morning. I’d like to try a plant / seed swap (as well as book swap) at this meeting. It might be a bit early for swapping seedlings or plants, but if you have used half a packet of seeds that might expire before next year, why not bring them along a make a swap? I’ll be bringing several.
We had a good outing to Penwood earlier in March, and came back with a boot full of good value, good quality plants, shrubs and a tree! Next outing 16th April (see below).
I’ve booked, through Barnes Coaches, to go to Kew Gardens on 29th May, entry is included. Pick up is at 0955 from the Bear Hotel in Hungerford, and we will get plenty of time there to explore, as we return at about 7pm. Book through Barnes Coaches if you fancy the day out.
The Parish Council have planted some new trees in Popham Close, which I will photograph 2 or 3 times a year to mark and record their growth.
In April, the diary shows there’s quite a bit to get out and see:

1400 – 1600 Ramsbury Horticultural Society, Spring Show, Memorial Hall, Ramsbury

I’ve done a recce on Yew Tree garden centre, and it’s very nice. Lots to see and do, an extensive plants section, pretty much anything you need for your garden, they’ll have it, and all with a lovely café.
Meet at Dobbies at 11 for a coffee, then car share to Yew Tree at about 1130. Stay for an optional coffee, or lunch.
Sat 26th
1000 – 1200, Hungerford Bring & Buy Plant Sale, Croft Hall, Hungerford
Wed 30th
Rooks Nest NGS. 1100 – 1530, entry £6, here’s the link to book: Find a Garden | National Garden Scheme
Although we’ve had some lovely weather recently, and the forecast for the next week is cracking, it’s still too cold at night to leave out anything young and tender.
Happy Forking!
