Open Gardens

Garden Glory

Our village garden trail runs every two years, with the next event planned for Sunday 6th July 2025.  We are lucky enough to have plenty of keen gardeners in our village, some of whom are happy to open their beautiful gardens to the public from time to time.

Those gardens we have had the pleasure of including in previous trails have ranged from small courtyards through to large formal gardens. With the river Kennet running through the village, many of our gardeners are lucky enough to have this rare chalk stream habitat running along the bottom of their gardens.

Whether your garden is a manicured marvel, or a wildlife wilderness, or, like most of us, something in between, you are sure to find plenty of ideas and a lot of pleasure and relaxation wandering around the gardens on offer.

We also have a thriving gardening group, The Foliat Forkers, who organise trips and visits to gardening events, as well as having regular meet ups to exchange ideas, seeds, plants, gardening books and tips.

The lectern and information board planned to be located by our magnificent London Plane Tree in the centre of the village is being paid for with funds raised at the last open garden trail in 2023. This will give some information on the village and the local area along with some suggestions for local walks.  The event held in 2018 paid for the planters located at the village gates at either end of the village on the B4192. All profits from each event go back into village projects.

We hope to see you at our next event!
