The Parish Council has received the following revised proposal from Wiltshire Council for a partial relocation of the footpath in Fairyland. This will be discussed at the next Parish Council meeting on 14th January, 8pm in the Village Hall.
The applicant states the following.
“We have noted the concern that the original proposal would result in the loss of the riverside section of the path, with the attendant impact on public enjoyment. With that in mind (and on the basis of the input of the Parish Council) an alternative alignment is proposed which retains the riverside section to a point just before the fencing to the garden. This is depicted on the revised plan.
We are committed to undertake all necessary work to the section X-Y to ensure that it is to a standard required to provide a good walking surface with drainage into the abutting ditch and with the planting of a hedge between the ditch and the new path to provide protection from the ditch. The field side of the path between X and Y is to be fenced to provide separation from any grazing livestock and there are no structures across the route.”
Chilton Foliat Parish Council will be meeting to discuss this proposal on 14 January 2025. If you would like to make any observations or representations regarding the proposals, I would be very grateful if you could reply to me via email, no later than 5pm on 16 January 2025.
