BIG NEWS!!!
Back in September a discussion was had about the improvements we could make to the Village Hall in order for it to be a more usable space for the wider community.
On behalf of the management committee I wrote a grant application to The National Lottery Community Fund with a proposal.
The list of improvements that we thought most beneficial were:
] 100 matching sets of crockery, glassware and cutlery to replace the mismatched current stock.
] Stage curtaining and tracks in the small hall in order to create a backdrop for music events and other productions.
] An oven and a hob in the kitchen to allow catering for both Village Hall events organised by the Events Committee, and for hires such as wakes, weddings and parties.
] The replacement of window curtains with blinds to smarten the general appearance of the Windows and the hall in general.
] Permanent stage lighting and a lighting control board in order to light events including the Panto, bands, and parties.
] Finally, purpose built wall to wall storage at the back of the small hall, which will house paperwork, costumes and all sundry items currently on display. This will make the small hall much tidier and allow us to remove old filing cabinets to make the space more usable.
I am delighted to let you know that we have now been awarded the grant amount requested, and we are in receipt of £19,940!!! We can’t wait to get started on the improvements in the New Year, and for you to experience and enjoy them yourself.
